How old do female rats have to be to get sprayed?
Q. I heard that spraying female rats can prevent tumors later in life. I have 2 rats that are 6 1/2 weeks. I also have 2 rats that are 3 month old rats (almost 4), and 3 rats that are 6+ month rats. I don't know their age exactly, since they were bought at a pet store.

A. Yes, it is true that it can prevent mammary tumor in female rats. It is said that a rat that is not spayed has a risk of 74% of getting one rather a rat that IS spayed has only a 4%risk. It is not nesscary, unless of course you want to keep a female rat and a male rat in the same cage. I have never spayed my rats and am not considering, at any time soon, doing it. If you decide you do want to get your female rat spayed, see your vet and he will tell you the risks of surgery. This website may help: The website Darksong mentioned before, also looks good! how do i get rid of rats that is already trapped?
Q. last night a huge rat is already trapped in the trap. what should i do? or usually people do to kill it. im planning to pour it with hot boiling water to kill it. Oh yeah.. i hate rats n im freaked out by it.

A. drown them, rats cannot swim, they drown. put them in a bucket, a deep one, and fill it half way, so they cant crawl out. they will drown.

How do I get rid of the rats in my house?
Q. They're everywhere! In bedrooms, the kitchen, bathroom, and in the attic, maybe not the basement but only because I'm rarely down there. The rats do the same routine everyday, at 8:00 PM they're somewhere around the kitchen, then at midnight I can see them hugging the wall while running and under beds. The sticky traps don't work because they can avoid them and they don't eat the poison that was put in the cracks. These rats are smart! Can anyone tell me how to get rid of them? I don't care whether I have to kill them or not. The humans are the dominant species in the house.

A. first, put everything they can get into away from them. this means all food, dry pasta, cereal, flour, sugar everything into glass or heavy plastic containers so they can't get food. Then, go to your local co-op or feed store and get a product called Onebite. this will kill them. do put it along the walls as rats tend to run along the walls. and do put it in the basement coz you can bet they are there. probably where they nest. They are there because you are making it easy for them to get food. You also need to find where they are coming in at and block these places. that is a good place to put the Onebite at too. it will take a coule of days for the bait to take affect, but this stuff does kill them. hopefully, they die outside as it will… [cont.]
