severe right abdominal pain goes all the way to my lower back area. Ruled out appendices and kidney stones.?
Q. This pain has doubled me over. It hurts to stand or walk. I have swelling in my lower abdominal area as well and have peed so much i have dehydrated myself twice. Been to the ER with this and have seen two other docs...will see another one tomorrow. I feel crazy because all of my tests have came back normal they even did a cat scan.

A. cat scans are NOT the only affective way to determine the cause of your symptoms. You should see a Urologist and a Gastroenterologist. They are specialists in this field and should be able to help you more. There are different procedures and tests they can do do figure this out! see the ER again anytime you need!!! I am so sorry you feel this way and hope you feel well soon!

A. Yes - I always wished they'd been written in novel form too, because there are all sorts of tantalising hints of stories in them.

How Do You Know Your Appendix Burst And What Do You Do?
Q. I'm curious, for future reference, what are clear signs that your appendix has burst? Where does it hurt, what is the volume of pain, etc. Secondly, what do you do if your appendix has burst? Besides seeking medical attention as soon as possible. Like, is there something you can do to stop the pain? Because doesn't the appendix hold some chemicals that are deadly to your body? Finally, what are things you should never do if your appendix is broken, to make sure you don't further injure yourself.

A. First of all, if you have any indication that your appendix burst, there is no way, and there should be no reason to try and make the pain go away. Don't take aspirin, don't do anything but go to the doctor. Appendicitis is an infection of the appendix and if left untreated could be fatal. Now usually there is only one sign of a ruptured appendix, a sharp or gradual severe pain in the abdomen. In most cases the pain will cause near immobility - in which you will have a lot of trouble moving around. Some people have higher thresholds of pain, so if you notice a consistent pain in your side that stays longer than a cramp would, you should probably have it checked out. Good news though.
